Chronic Pain

4 success stories about chronic pain.

I found out about NUCCA from a personal friend of Dr. Matt Flory. When I found out what he did I asked about Restless Leg Syndrome. He said adjustments have been known to help so I scheduled an appointment the next day.

I had been suffering from RLS for a little over year. I would have consistent leg pain every night before bed right as I was trying to get to sleep. Of course, this inhibited me from falling asleep quickly. I would get up sometimes to stretch or even go as far as to take a pain reliever.

My experience has made me realize how much our body is connected to other things. I had no idea a twisted spine could affect my legs. And how physical and emotional stress could impact my condition.

I started getting adjustments twice a week. I quickly moved to once a week and am now down to every other week. I only notice leg pain before bed when I have had an extremely stressful week at work and even so, it is significantly dulled pain and discomfort.

I fully believe in this treatment and have referred co-workers, friends and family. Thank you for not only helping me fix my condition but also educating me on the causes and how to help prevent it.NUCCA has helped me in many ways. I was having chronic tension-like headaches for 3 months that I had never experienced before. I tried a muscle relaxer with pain medication that a primary care doctor prescribed and many otc medications, without any results. Finally, after visiting Dr. Flory, my headaches disappeared! I am very active, swimming, biking and running, and was able to return to all of my previous activities without a headache. I also was experiencing shin and hip pain from running that has also subsided. NUCCA has done amazing things for me and I feel so much better pain free!

n 2004 I was involved in an car accident that left me with serious neck problems. The pain I was having in my neck was like pain I have never felt before. The pain would be so bad that it would cause me to have terrible headaches, so bad that I was unable to continue with daily activities like work & take care of my son.

The pain would radiate down my arm & cause my face & arm to go numb, the pain was so intense at times that it would literally make me sick. This was occurring several times a week, which was getting in the way of my everyday life. I couldn't do normal activities anymore; lift, push, pull, look from side to side. I couldn't even play with my son anymore without it causing me to have awful pain.

I was referred to go to a regular chiropractor, advised that this was all I needed & I should feel better. I was going to the chiropractor 3-4 times a week for months with only temporary relief. After the chiropractor wasn't working I was then referred to a physical therapist, where I was told that all I needed was to do some stretches & would feel better.

After months of going to the physical therapist with still no lasting relief I was then referred to a pain management Dr, who then put me on several different medicines & starting giving me injections in my neck. After a few months of that with no lasting relief he decided to combine all these things & that should do the trick.

So, I was seeing a physical therapist twice a week, taking muscle relaxers & a prescription anti-inflammatory daily, & getting painful injections in my neck once a week. Still no lasting relief.

After that, I saw a neurologist who still couldn't find the problem along with a few other Dr's. After that I tried massage therapy, still nothing that would last. I had several MRI's that all came back normal. No one could seem to find what was wrong with me, but here I am, with obviously something wrong because I am in so much pain. It was so bad that I was now taking Vicodin to help with the pain but even

granted until they can't do them anymore. Your knowledge and your caring spirit helped me achieve a healthy and productive life-once more!

I've lost the weight, I'm lifting weights, and doing tons of crunches again. I walk with a spring in my step, and people around me say I look younger than ever. (That's probably because the dark circles are gone from under my eyes from lack of sleep.)

I laugh so much now, because I feel happy again. I'm even more productive at work (oh, and my staff is much happier too - they send their own "thank you's")! So, you see, I've been extremely busy, but wanted to take the time today to write. This letter is long overdue!

I have seen many doctors over the years for my back condition. many of which I entrusted to prescribe treatments and medications. After years of X-rays, MRI's, medications, physical therapy ... quite frankly I began to feel that pain and numbness and a degradation of my quality of life were imminent.

Having had a bad experience with a Chiropractor several years ago, I was not willing to consider this path as a viable alternative any longer. On the relentless advise of a colleague, who referred me to NUCCA, I scheduled my appointment and can not begin to tell you how dramatically it has impacted me.

I was shocked at how radically different NUCCA was and that during this painless experience; I was able to see the physical change in my spine. I was amazed to find that without medication, heat packs, or ice, I could function normally without pain.

Sometimes we need to be convinced by others to consider all of the alternatives.I had been suffering from TMJ for twenty years. The pain would get so horrific that strong painkillers were the only avenue to temporary relief. I have missed days of work, suffered constantly and wore a splint 24/7. One Saturday while in terrible pain, I got an emergency appointment with a massage therapist who was recommended to me by a fellow TMJ sufferer.

She recommended that I make an appointment with a NUCCA doctor. She said "one visit was enough to cure her of the pain she was suffering". I went as recommended.

The beginning visits were showing slow signs of recovery, then something clicked and the pain left me. If I make an appointment every two weeks (right now), I suffer from no jaw pain. When I miss going for a month, the pain reminds me to make an appointment. Yet, I have been told that in time my visits will be scheduled much farther apart.

I am sincerely grateful for the tremendous amount of pain free days.
